Common questions

What to know before creating a video

Clear answers about the beta workflow, supported inputs and temporary storage.

What does StorySplice generate?

StorySplice combines an editable script, stock footage, synthetic narration, optional background music and styled captions into a downloadable MP4.

Can I use my own script, video and music?

Yes. You can paste your own script, upload local video files up to 150 MB each and upload a supported background-music file up to 30 MB. You are responsible for having the rights required to use uploaded material.

Which video formats are supported?

You can create portrait 9:16 or landscape 16:9 videos, with target lengths from approximately 15 to 60 seconds. Choose portrait for phone-first feeds and landscape for conventional widescreen players.

Can I preview a video before downloading it?

Yes. Completed videos can be played in the browser and downloaded as MP4 files from the project workspace or Recent videos.

How long are videos stored?

Generated task media, uploaded local videos and uploaded background music are scheduled for automatic deletion after seven days. Download anything you want to keep.

Can I use generated videos commercially?

The Terms permit lawful personal or commercial use to the extent allowed by law, but you must review the result and secure all necessary rights, licenses and permissions.

How a Sunflower Grows From a Single Seed

This genuine 40-second vertical video follows a sunflower from germination through flowering, pollination and the production of new seeds.

Public example · 0:40 · portrait 9:16 · English narration · burned-in captions

Download example MP4

01 · Brief

Explain one complete natural cycle

The story moves from a seed beneath the soil to germination, growth, flowering, pollination and the formation of new seeds. Each stage gives the narration a concrete visual purpose.

Format
Portrait 9:16
Final length
40 seconds
Tone
Warm, vivid and educational

02 · Script

Build a visible progression

Every sunflower begins as one striped seed, tucked beneath a thin blanket of soil.

The original 100-word narration uses short sentences and avoids the common misconception that mature sunflower heads continue tracking the sun.

03 · Visual plan

Match footage to each growth stage

Ordered searches covered seed planting, germination, emerging seedlings, green leaves, a developing bud, an open bloom, pollinators and a mature seed head. The sequence was reviewed frame by frame before publication.

04 · Review

Publish only after quality control

The final file contains 1080×1920 H.264 video and AAC audio at 30 fps. Captions remain inside the mobile safe area, the narration is clear over restrained music, and representative frames stay relevant to the sunflower lifecycle.

Editorial and visual review

What was checked before this example became public

Sequence integrity

Footage follows the lifecycle rather than mixing mature flowers into the germination stage. The order was reviewed against the approved narration beat by beat.

Claim correction

The script avoids repeating the common oversimplification that mature sunflower heads keep tracking the sun. The wording stays focused on visible growth stages instead.

Mobile composition

Representative frames were checked at 9:16 for subject visibility, caption contrast and safe placement above player controls.

Known limitation

The stock footage comes from more than one plant and location. It illustrates a lifecycle; it is not continuous time-lapse documentation of a single sunflower.

What this plan creates

StorySplice is an independent application built on third-party AI models and media services. The standard plan assembles existing stock footage or uploaded videos with AI-assisted writing, synthetic narration, subtitles and music. You can enter and edit scripts and keywords; this is not a fixed-template-only service. New AI-generated visual scenes are a separate experimental feature, excluded from this plan.

How StorySplice works · Refund & Cancellation Policy

How AI credits work

AI credits are StorySplice usage units for video generation. The selected maximum length includes your end card.

Up to 30 seconds

10 credits

For a short stock-footage or uploaded-footage video.

31–60 seconds

15 credits

For a longer stock-footage or uploaded-footage video.

AI scripting, keyword generation and voice previews are included at no additional credit cost. Viewing, previewing or downloading an existing video uses no credits.

Credits are reserved when you submit a render. Credits used by a render that fails because of a StorySplice system error are automatically restored when the failure is confirmed. An unconfirmed submission stays reserved while its status is resolved.

When subscriptions launch, Creator Beta will include 300 credits per monthly billing period for $15/month. Unused monthly credits will expire at the end of the billing period without rollover. Existing paid periods retain their original allowance and expiration date. Free Trial credits are granted once and will not be added to a subscription allowance.

Everything for a complete short video

Write and find footage

Draft a script, generate editable search keywords, and choose Pexels, Pixabay or Coverr footage. You can also upload your own video assets.

Make it sound like you

Choose a multilingual voice, preview it, adjust narration and music volume, or upload your own background music.

Finish and share

Style burned-in subtitles, add an end card, and render in portrait 9:16 or landscape 16:9. Review in your browser and download an MP4.

Beta usage limits

To maintain reliable rendering performance during the beta, StorySplice currently supports one active render per account and up to two render submissions per day, resetting at 00:00 UTC.

These capacity limits apply to both plans and are separate from your credit allowance. Failed submissions still count toward the daily limit. Private generated videos are retained for seven days from submission; download anything you want to keep.

Experimental AI Scene Generation

StorySplice is testing additional generative AI scene capabilities with selected beta users. These experimental features are currently invite-only and are not included in the Creator Beta subscription or its AI credit allowance.

Pricing and credit requirements for generative AI scenes may be introduced in the future after testing is complete.

Monthly subscriptions are coming soon

Creator Beta is planned at $15/month with 300 AI credits per monthly billing period. Paid checkout is not enabled while we prepare subscription billing.

Once available, subscriptions will renew monthly until canceled. Canceling will stop future renewals; access will continue through the paid billing period. Creating an account does not start a subscription or authorize a charge.

We are not collecting payment-link requests. You can use the Free Trial now, with no payment details required.

Questions before you start?

What is an AI credit?

A StorySplice usage unit for video generation. A standard render uses 10 or 15 credits according to the selected maximum length. Script generation, keywords and voice previews have no additional credit cost.

How many videos can I create with 300 credits?

Up to 30 videos at up to 30 seconds, or 20 videos at 31–60 seconds. Your total depends on the lengths you choose. Daily submission and active-render limits also apply.

Do unused credits roll over?

No. The planned subscription includes 300 credits per monthly billing period. Unused credits expire at the end of that period. The 30 trial credits are granted once and do not renew. Existing paid periods keep their original terms.

What happens if a render fails?

Credits are automatically restored after a failure is confirmed. This also applies when a script produces narration longer than the selected limit. Shorten the script or select a longer duration before trying again. If an engine connection is interrupted, we keep the credits reserved until the submission is resolved; contact Support with the request ID if needed.

Will I be charged automatically?

Not now: paid checkout is not enabled. Once subscriptions launch, the $15/month plan will renew monthly until canceled. Cancel before your next renewal to avoid the next charge; access continues through the paid billing period. Applicable taxes, final charges and refund terms will be shown before purchase. Creating an account does not authorize a charge.

Is AI Scene Generation included?

No. Experimental generative AI scenes are separate, invite-only and excluded from Creator Beta and its monthly credits.

How long are generated videos stored?

Private videos are retained for seven days from submission. Download the MP4 before it expires. Repeat previews and downloads do not consume additional credits.
